Our Consitutions tell us that "the blessed Dominic recommended some form of study to the first nuns as an authentic observance of the Order". God is the primary focus of our study, and so we strive to learn more about Him through our study of the Scriptures and the liturgy of the Church, in which the truths of Scripture are made "unceasingly present and actual." We are also encouraged to study the works of the great Christian writers through the ages. Thomas Aquinas, saint, doctor of the Church, and Dominican brother, is always regarded as our "best master."
